Unparented offers an integrated approach that combines personal memoir, psychological research, and evidence-based coping strategies to help readers better understand the lasting impact of family dysfunction. Through both personal storytelling and clinical insight, the book explores themes of emotional neglect, parentification, trauma, boundary-setting, grief, estrangement, and resilience, while providing readers with concrete skills to support healing and personal growth.
